This man needs no introduction. If you are familiar with the menswear scene in Australia, you would have seen this chiseled face many times before. I have lost count of the number of look books and catalogs this man is currently featured in, and if thats not enough the social media real estate this man dominates is incredibly impressive.
In between walking runways at the 20th Annual Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, I had the pleasure of attending a few shows with Sam, as well as sitting down over a few coffees at the Lavazza Cafe Bar, where we talked all things mens fashion and inspiration.
Describe your style in one sentence? In two words.
Youthful & dapper.
What/who inspires you?
Im not someone to really be inspired by big international fashion icons, or brands, I find myself more interested in what bloggers are doing close to home. Theres a great bunch of Australian mens bloggers who are all making their mark on the international scene who i like to keep my eye on. And yes, that includes you!
When did you discover an interest in fashion/style?
I have always had a keen interest in fashion, however it wasn't really until i started getting more involved in modelling that I began to develop a taste in preppy fashion and tailored suiting.
What is your most treasured wardrobe item?
Probably my navy blazer. Its a timeless wardrobe staple that can be paired with so many different looks. An absolute essential in my books!
Who is your style hero?
The king of Prep, John F Kennedy.
How do you unwind from your busy lifestyle?
To be honest, i don't get much of a chance to unwind. But when i do it usually revolves around finding the time to meditate, or reading up on recent scientific discoveries.
How do you like your coffee?
If i'm feeling particularly hipster, an almond milk latte, that or a decent no fuss cold brew on warmer weather days.
Favourite part of VAMFF? Being on the runway or sitting front row?
As much as I love attending runways, walking definitely takes the cake. You cant beat the adrenaline rush you get just before walking. No matter how many shows you have walked in before, it always gets to you!
In 5 years time I will....
Hopefully I will be pursuing passion in science, and undertaking further study in the field. Otherwise I may be based in L.A or London if modelling is going well for me!
