When watchmakers and watch enthusiasts combine forces: NOMOS Glashütte and NOMOS Watch Club have teamed up to create a brand-new special edition of the NOMOS model Club. Today we are pleased to present the collective ideas of the club members and the implementation of the NOMOS designers.
“It’s a NOMOS watch by the fans, for the fans,” explains Christopher Waluga, Founder & Executive Editor of the NOMOS Watch Club (NMC). Founded in 2017, this website & blog has become the meeting place for fans of the Bauhaus styled Glashütte-based brand.
The NOMOS Watch Club 36 is the result of a collaborative process with members of the NWC and the manufacture directly. This immersive collaborative approach is not uncommon, as we see more and more watch-brands showing appreciation to sub communities who share a passion about a particular watch model being recognised with a special edition; A few examples that come to mind include the Casio x Hodinkee, Cartier x Singapore Watch Club and Omega x Speedy Tuesdays.
NOMOS Watch Club – Reference 703.S4: It features a dial the colour of sketch paper with the NWC’s favourite colour on the arabic numerals/indexes and second circle: olive green. The numerals are outlined in gold, and the minute track and the seconds hand in red for another pop of colour and contrast. Complementing this subtle dial, the Club’s watch comes on a grey 18mm woven textile strap.

The watch is based on the existing Club model and has a compact 36mm case made of polished steel, with a wide & rounded bezel, protruding lugs (L2L is 47.5mm) and a thin 8.2mm height. Nevertheless, the case comes with a very decent 100m water-resistance and features a raised crystal (vintage-feel), on the rear, Nomos has included a display caseback showcasing the handsome movement inside. The crown is decorated with the NWC logo, which is a nice subtle touch.

The watch is powered by the NOMOS Alpha calibre based on the Peseux, but not the regular Alpha calibre, here it is fitted with the brand’s in-house Swing System with a subtle yet mesmerising tempered blue balance spring for those who pay close attention. Nomos also fine tuned the movements efficiency achieving a 43h power reserve and added other aesthetic details including the Glashütte perlage and blued screws.
The NOMOS Watch Club 36 was available as a special model, rather than a limited edition, it was available for pre-order in mid 2022 and the allocation has since concluded.
